46. What does the 1335 days mean in the book of Daniel?
1335 days revelation appears at the end of the book of Daniel. It is about when their awaiting Messiah kingdom will come.
The blessings of the people who waits and come to the 1335 days.
In order to study the book of Daniel, we need to understand the theme of Daniel. The book of Daniel is given to the Jews regarding the forthcoming Messiah kingdom and its timing.
As the book of Revelation is given to the church regarding the return of the Lord, the book of Daniel is given to the Jews regarding when their Messiah and his kingdom will come.
Some can question why would the Jews need the book of Daniel when there is the book of Revelation. That is because the Jews will not receive Jesus until He returns. Thus, the book of Revelation does not and won’t mean anything to them. That is why they are given their own book of revelation which is the book of Daniel.
1335 days revelation appears at the end of the book of Daniel. It is about when their awaiting Messiah kingdom will come.
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” (Daniel 12:11-12).
Here, let us divide this revelation into three parts.
1) “from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up”
This is on the same context with Daniel 9:27, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease...” This is an event where the antichrist will enter Jerusalem and commit religious persecution. “In the midst of the week” is referring to the later three and a half years period among the seven years period. In terms of days, this is 1260 days.
The countdown for the appearance of the Messiah that the Jews were awaiting will begin from then.
2) “there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days”
The later three and half years period is 1260 days. However, The scripture says 1290 days. There are 30 more additional days. Why are the 30 days added? What would it mean?
Here, we observe that the 30 days must be counted from the time when the sacrifice and the oblation ceases.
After 1260 days, all believers on the earth will be raptured to the air including the remaining Jews. They will escape from the persecution of the antichrist and receive Jesus in the air. Then, what about the 30 days added to 1260 days? I will talk about this later.
3) “Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days”
Now, we see another number. What does the 1335 days mean? 1335 days are also a continuation of the 1260 days. Therefore, if we start from the 1260 days, it will be an additional 75 days period and if we start from 1290 days, it will be an additional 45 days period.
This indicates that during the 30 days period between the 1260 days and 1290 days, there is a special event. Furthermore, if we wait until the 1335 day, we will see the Messiah kingdom.
Then, what happens during the 30 days and the 45 days period? These problems need to be approached carefully because there is no definite answer in the Bible.
The author’s opinion
In my opinion, the 30 days period that is added to the 1260 days are the time when the world gets its final judgement by fire and get consumed (all believers will be raptured at this time). The additional 45 days are the creation period of the new heaven and new earth for the millennium kingdom.
Therefore, after 1335 days since the religious persecution of the Jews from the antichrist, everything will be done and the one comes to the end will be blessed as it is written in the scripture. Of course, the blessing is the hope of the Jews for entering to the Messiah kingdom.
47. How do we live in the millennium kingdom?
The life in the millennium kingdom is not described in detail in the Bible. Roughly speaking, it will be like the following.
In the millennium kingdom, there are no sins or curses. It is the kingdom of God that happens in this world. The purpose of the millennium kingdom is not to last eternally but to keep the promised blessing that God has given to Adam through Jesus, the recovered life of Eden.
People will cultivate the land and eat its products. There will be families. Children will be born like the stars on the heaven. (Isaiah 65:17-25).
Everything is perfect in the millennium kingdom. Everybody who enters here will have the perfect body just like what Adam and Eve had in Eden. Diseases and disabilities of the body come from the curse that originates from sin. However, everybody in the millennium kingdom will be free from this curse.
Satan who is the head of sin will be bound by Jesus and will be cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years. A society without Satan! Without Satan, there can be no sin in the society. Furthermore, all curses, which is the byproduct of sin, will disappear.
We are free from the original sin through Jesus. When Satan disappears, we will be free from the actual sin as well. A world without sin, no temptations of sin, a complete sin free society is the millennium kingdom.
Therefore, there is no disease. No disabilities. The blind will see, the speech-impaired will praise God, and the lame will run like a colt. Old people will become young and ugly people will become beautiful as Adam and Eve (“bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh”, Genesis 2:23).
The Lord will come soon. When you enter into that kingdom, you will get away from all of the miseries and difficulties that you are facing right now. A thousand-fold, tens of thousand-fold of consolation will be given during a thousand years.
Take a look at Isaiah 65:17-25 and you will be able to picture the life of that world.
48. What is the order and timing of the resurrection?
There is order in the resurrection. Not all of the believers are getting resurrected instantaneously.
1) There is order in the resurrection
There is order in the resurrection. Not all of the believers are getting resurrected instantaneously.
There are many references of the resurrection in the Bible. However, we need to realize that the short messages and events regarding resurrection are not everything. Those are some odd bits of information of resurrection. When we are working on those problems, we should not make hasty conclusions or attempt to give the definition of resurrection.
2) There must be a major premise regarding interpretations on resurrection
The Bible reveals orders of resurrection so that we can interpret that subject correctly. The order is given in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 where apostle Paul received revelations regarding resurrection. Let us look at verses 19-26 and follow Paul’s message.
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
To summarize the order of resurrection, there are three kinds of resurrection.
The first fruit is Jesus.
Next is Christ’s at his coming.
Lastly, the believers will be resurrected when the millennium kingdom, which will be ruled by Jesus, ends, and death is destroyed.
Paul’s revelation regarding resurrection explains how everybody gains resurrected life through Christ.
3) The division of the believers’ resurrection
We should pay close attention that the believers’ resurrection is divided into two.
After saying that “Christ’s” will be resurrected at His coming, the scripture says that “then cometh the end”. Then, who are the “Christ’s” at His coming?
The answer is given in Revelation 20:4-6, which is the resurrection of the martyrs. Their resurrection is the first resurrection. They are the heavenly army, the people who will follow the returning Lord who sits on a white horse. They are “Christ’s” at His coming.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 mentions “the dead in Christ shall rise first”. In order to get sound interpretation of resurrection the subject of this message should be those who are Christ’s at His coming, not the whole believers.
There is no reason for all believers to be resurrected when the Lord returns because a resurrected body is not suitable for the millennium kingdom. Believers who are taking spiritual rest in heaven does not need to go through the life in the millennium kingdom.
That’s why it is written in Revelation 20:5 “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished”. The quoted message is not talking about the unbelievers’ resurrection for judgement. It is explaining when the general believers will be (not the martyrs who joins the resurrection).
49. Who is the first to rise?
The first to be resurrected indicate two kinds of resurrection of the martyrs. One kind are the believers who have been martyred before the seven years tribulation (Revelation 6:9-11). The other kind are the servants of God who were doing the two witnesses ministry, martyred by the antichrist, then get resurrected and ascended to heaven.
“...and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.” (Revelation 20:4-5). This resurrection is the first resurrection of the believers.
The martyrs appears in chapter 6. When Jesus is opening the fifth seal, the souls of them that were slain for the world of God, and for the testimony which they held, were under the alter, crying out with a loud voice, asking for judge and revenge for their blood.
God gave them white robes and told them that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
These are the two kinds of martyrs. They will be glorified by participating the first resurrection and by reigning as kings with Christ in the millennium kingdom.
Here, “their fellowservants also and their bretheren” mean the God’s servants who’s mission was to be martyred. They will be martyred by the antichrist while doing the two witnesses ministry, resurrect and ascend up to heaven, as written in chapter 11. They are the servants of God, the 144000 who had seals in their forehead (Revelation 11:11-12).
“which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands” are not the believers who were resisting the beast in the later three and a half years period. They are the two witnesses who were martyred during the seven years tribulation.
There can be some misunderstanding because of the mark of the beast. However, the two witnesses also didn’t receive the mark of the beast upon their foreheads or on their hands. It means that they were directly confronting the beast and martyred during the seven years tribulation.
The believers who are left in the later three and a half years period will be persecuted from the beast as a disciplinary action. Even if they get killed by the antichrist while resisting receiving the mark, they will not qualify to become the martyrs that participate in the first resurrection who reign with Christ in the millennium kingdom. The predestined numbers of martyrs will be filled with the martyrdom of the two witnesses (Revelation 6:11).
1) The timing of the first resurrection
The resurrection of the martyrs is the first resurrection. The martyrs can be classified into two: the group who were martyred before the seven years tribulation and the other group that were martyred amongst the tribulation. Someone could raise a question if both of the groups will be resurrected at the same time or at a different time.
The martyrs who were killed in the middle of the tribulation are the two witnesses. They will finish their mission and will be martyred by the antichrist and be resurrected as written in the Bible.
Then, when does the martyrs that were killed before the tribulation resurrect? The Bible does not give definite answer for that. However, Revelation 20:4-6 mentions about the first resurrection saying “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished”. The martyrs will be resurrected and reign with Christ for a thousand years which is the first resurreection.
Therefore, the other martyrs besides the two witnesses need to be resurrected by the time they enter into the millennium kingdom so that they can be blessed and reign with Christ for a thousand years.
The two witnesses resurrects earlier than the other martyrs because they will come down the earth as a heavenly army with Christ and crush the army of the antichrist with the rod of iron. Whether the first or the second, the resurrection of the martyrs are called the first resurrection in the Bible.
2) The life of the first resurrectors
The first resurrection is a reward for the martyrs. They do not enter into the millennium kingdom as people but as rulers with Christ.
Jesus will rule the millennium kingdom with is resurrected body and the first resurrectors will join him.
They will not have a family and they won’t be able to have children. However, they will live with the same status of Jesus and reign in the millennium kingdom.
There is no reference of what kind of life they will be living in the millennium kingdom. However, Revelation 20:9 mentions “the beloved city”, which we can infer that they will be living a glorious life with Jesus with their resurrected body, accordingly.
50. What kind of body do we have after the resurrection?
Because the resurrected body is complete with salvation, it is a spiritual body.
Jesus said that the resurrected body is like that of the angel’s. The resurrected body is the salvation-complete body which is literally the body of the children of God. The Lord said in Luke 20:36 “the children of God, being the children of the resurrection”.
Our resurrection is the completion of christians’ final hope. We will have all actual authority as the children of God at then. Since the resurrected body is a spiritual body, it will be more glorious than the spirit. When our spirit is clothed with this spiritual body, we will not able to imagine how glorious it will be. Therefore, the believers who are resting in heaven are also hoping for the resurrection in order to put in the spiritual body.
Regardless of our current condition of our body, we will be transformed to the body which will be the best creation of God - the most beautiful, most healthy, most awesome, most perfect body. It is the completion of creation as the children of God. There will be no aging, no disease, and of course, no death.
What will be the age level of the resurrected body? I cannot provide a definite answer. Probably, the angels are created the way they look like right now. Adam’s creation was a grown up man, a completed man. Probably, we will be like that too.
We’ll have our memories that we had in this world but our intellectual levels or any other mental strength will reflect the perfect level showing God’s image.
How is that? Won’t it be worthwhile to wait for that day with hope as christians?
51. What is heaven like?
Life in heaven can be divided into two.
1) Going to heaven means receiving salvation.
Because souls that are saved can go to heaven. And salvation is receiving Jesus Christ, the Lord of the sinners, the Son of God, as your saviour.
Receiving Jesus as your saviour means that you believe the fact that Jesus was crucified for your redemption of sin. We need to obey the commands or other conditions that are the word of God as christians but they are not necessary for your salvation or going to heaven.
2) Life in heaven can be divided into two.
One is the life as the spiritual resting place. We will take off our body - that is, becoming a spirit after death. When a person who believes in Jesus dies, his or her spirit will go to heaven and rest, living the life of heaven.
The other one is the life with the spiritual body. This body is the resurrected body. Originally, heaven is the place to live with the spiritual (resurrected) body eternally. Therefore, when we put on the resurrected body after passing the great white throne, we will live a new life and this is the final hope of all christians.
There is a blessing for the believers who survive until Jesus returns. They will not go through death but be transformed to the spiritual body and enter into heaven.
At the final end (the time when the millennium kingdom ends), our bodies will be changed suddenly into the spiritual body. This body is the same body as the people who were resurrected after their death, getting immortal bodies. (1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

Epilogue: 1. Interpreting the book of Revelation in eschatological premillennialism perspective.
The biggest issue of interpreting the book of Revelation is how to deal with the millennium kingdom, whether it exists or not. The existence of the millennium kingdom changes the direction of the eschatology interpretation completely.
1. Views of the millennium kingdom interpretation
So far, there are three views of millennium kingdom interpretation. That is premillennialism, amillennialism, and postmillennialism.
Premillennialism is a theological view which states that the kingdom of God will be established right after the return of Jesus. According to this view, this kingdom, which is ruled by Jesus is the millennium kingdom.
Amillennialism is a theological view that does not admit the millennium kingdom. According to this view, the world will be judged, people will be changed and raptured by the return of Jesus. When heaven comes, the believers’ salvation will be complete.
Finally, postmillennialism is a theological view which states that there will be an era of the church where the world will be ruled by righteousness and truth. According to this view, this era is the millennium kingdom. After this era, the forces of evil will take control and the Lord will return to judge the world and salvation will be complete.
Furthermore, there are various other views as well. Defining and criticizing all of those views will be over the scope of this book.
2. Views within premillennialism
Amongst these three views, premillennialism is the most biblical view. However, there are various views within this view. Among them, there are two popular views, which are the ‘historical premillennialism’ and the ‘dispensational premillennialism’.
The historical premillennialism is the eschatology which is faithful to the reformist theology and it has been popular among many pastors. It states that the prophecy of the book of Revelation will be accomplished by historical events.
However, this view does not consider that the prophecies will be accomplished just before the return of Jesus but tries to connect the prophecy with all events that occurred historically that spans until the end of time. Thus, the scope of the revelation is very wide.
Meanwhile, for the case of ‘dispensational premillennialism’ is quite unique. They do interpret that the events that are prophesied in the book of Revelation will occur in the end time. However, it argues that the church era ends as the seven years tribulation begins and the seven years tribulation is the time for the Jews to repent and get saved. Thus, it considers that the book of Revelations is for the Jews, not for the church.
Therefore, according to this view, Jesus returns and the church gets raptured into the clouds before the seven years tribulation. There will be Jews and the unbelievers on this land which will live under the antichrist for seven years. After the seven years of cloud marriage ceremony, the believers will come down to the earth and live in the millennium kingdom.
3. Why eschatological premillennialism?
The Bible admits that premillennialism is correct. However, both historical and dispensational premillennialism not only distorts the biblical truth of the premillennialism but also causes great damage on sound eschatology viewpoint.
As I, the author, was researching on the book of Revelation, I was wondering if there could be another name besides the two views of premillennialism that interprets the book of Revelation eschatologically without distorting the prophecy. Thus, I named it, the ‘eschatological premillennialism’.
Let me explain what ‘eschatological premillennialism’ is and how to interpret it in the following.
4. How the eschatological premillennialism view the book of Revelation
The ‘eschatological premillennialism’ sets the end time period for seven years and interprets the book of Revelation. Many times, we tend to expand the end time period too much. However, the end time period indicated in the Bible is clearly seven years.
Daniel 9:24-27 shows that the time for Israel’s final salvation, which is the establishment of the Messiah kingdom, is 70 weeks. Within that period, the first 69 weeks counts from the reconstruction of Jerusalem decree until the Messiah was cut off.
The rest of the 70 weeks which is 1 week corresponds to the 1 week covenant where the antichrist signs the 1 week treaty with the 4 superpowers. The Jews will be religiously persecuted during the later part of the 1 week which is “a time, times, and half a time”. They won’t be able to bring sacrifice and oblation and Jerusalem will be under tribulation by the antichrist. After that, the Messiah will return, the remnants of Israel will be saved, and the Messiah kingdom will come.
All of these events will be proceeded during 1 week (seven years). The book of Revelation which was given to John at Patmos reveals these events concerning the church.
Therefore, the book of Daniel has been given for the salvation and the awaited forthcoming Messiah kingdom for the Jews. Meanwhile, the book of Revelation treats the appearance of the antichrist, the persecution and protection of the church, mark of the beast, return of the Lord, and the millennium kingdom for the same period.
Thus, the revelation scope for the book of Revelation is clear. It reveals the eschatological events that will occur during the 1 week (seven years) and it was given to the church. There is no revelations regarding other periods in the book of Revelation. The viewpoint that the book of Revelation only contains the events that will occur during the seven years tribulation is the ‘eschatological premillennialism’.
If we interpret the book of Revelation according to this viewpoint, several main points can be summarized.
1) The revelation regarding the things that will happen in the future is given from chapter 6. Chapter 6 shows the revelation of the opening of seals which is the introduction of the whole book.
2) The white horse of the first seal indicates the prophecy ministry of the servants of God for the church during the days of tribulation. Their activities are shown in chapter 11 as the two witnesses ministry.
3) The red and black horse of the second and third seal represents the damage caused by the war and famine during the seven years.
4) The name of the pale horse that is revealed by the fourth seal is death. It indicates the activities of the antichrist by the distribution of the mark of the beast.
The judgement of the world caused by the seal ends with the sixth seal. The seventh seal is the sign of the seven trumpets. The seven trumpets shows the cause the results of the tribulation during the seven years period.
Among the seven trumpet revelations, the church will suffer from the woe of the locusts which is the first woe and the fifth trumpet. This woe is needed for the purification of the church, which is the winnowing of God. The group clothed with white robes, which are the wheats, harvested from the winnowing, will be moved to the shelter prepared by God with the help of the eagle’s wing, escaping the terrible tribulation of the later three and a half years period.
The sixth trumpet is the critical disaster, the Euphrates war, which is the nuclear war.
The seventh trumpet is the seven disasters, the seven vial judgements, that will be poured upon this world at the end of the time. Jesus will return with the heavenly forces to the mount of Olives in the east side of Jerusalem. He will engage in Armageddon and crush the army of the antichrist and accomplish the final salvation of the remnants of Israel.
There will be the rapture of the church then. The people who will be raptured will be the following: The brides of Christ who are protected during the later three and the half years period in the prepared shelter, the surviving believers that have fallen into the three and a half years tribulation (the foolish virgins), and the remnants of Israel who are the saved Jews.
They don’t get raptured with the transformed body but with their own original body. The dead believers who are resting in heaven will not join this rapture nor will they participate in the millennium kingdom. The dead believers will not be resurrected until after one thousand years.
After the rapture, they will come down to the newly created millennium kingdom. Jesus will rule as king and the first resurrectors (the martyred believers) will assist Christ the king. The believers who were raptured will live as people in the millennium kingdom for a thousand years.
At the end of the millennium kingdom, Satan and its followers will be released from the bottomless pit for a while. They will mislead the second generation people who are born in the millennium kingdom. The mislead group will form Gog and Magog and rebel against Christ the king. While doing so, fire will come down from heaven and consume them.
After this, all creation will disappear and the living and the dead will stand in front of the great white throne in heaven. The people who followed the Lord until the end will have their bodies transformed into the spiritual body. The souls of the dead believers who were in heaven will be transformed to the resurrected body which is the spiritual body. The unbelievers will be resurrected to the body of judgement in order to enter the second death.
Then, everybody who died in disbelief will be sentenced the second death while saints who were saved by believing in Jesus will be blessed with heaven. All of the reward that the believers will receive will be determined at the great white throne.
Soon, the holy city, the new Jerusalem will come down from heaven and the believers will enter there. They will worship and praise God eternally and live the new blessed lives of children of God. This is how the salvation is completed for the people of God who were predestined in Christ. I, the author, who advocates the eschatological premillennialism, have briefly discussed my viewpoint of how to interpret the book of Revelation in the eschatological premillennialism perspective.

Epilogue: 2. Autobiography of my research and procedures of eschatology
During my research on the book of Revelation, I never prayed for any new revelation because I always firmly believed that the book of Revelation that John received in Patmos island was the whole revelation.
Motivation for writing this article
I realized that many people who visit my Bamjoongsori homepage are curious about my eschatology reseach. Some of their questions are: how did pastor Byung-Seok Min conduct his research, who taught him, and how did he continue his research until now.
I would like to write my research and procedures of eschatology as an autobiography so that it may help some readers.
1. Motive for starting eschatology research
I was called from the Lord late. It was after thirty, when I’ve already gone through many social experiences. Perhaps this is everybody’s interest but I was interested in the end of mankind from the beginning. Ever since I was a beginner in faith when I didn’t have much understandings of the Bible, I spared a lot of time reading books regarding the end time.
However, there were little eschatology research references 38 years ago, and most of them were written from pentecostal dispensationalists. They were fun but didn’t have depth, wasn’t matching with the Bible, and was time-limited superficial eschatology. I couldn’t be satisfied.
I’ve took a course called “historical premillenniumism” which was a reformist eschatology lecture when I was in Chongshin university from pastor Yun-Sun Park. The context wasn’t linked together coherently and for things that were not interpretable considered symbolic messages. I lost my interest in the so called reformist eschatology theology.
Later, I made a big decision. I thought perhaps I could create a new biblical eschatology. Now as I look back, I realize how reckless and bold I was at that time.
2. Methodology and procedures of my eschatology research
1) I thought that analyzing every events that occur in the book of Revelations needs to be done throughly. This was Luke’s Bible research methodology also (Luke 1:1-3). The stumbling blocks for understanding the book of Revelation are the following problems.
Two witnesses problem
The seven years tribulation problem
The great tribulation and the prepared shelter problem
First resurrection problem
The seals, trumpets, vials, and three woes problem
The problem of the relationship between the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation
Most of all, I realized that I won’t be able to get biblical interpretation of eschatology unless I understand the order of the resurrection. Thus, I’ve tackled this problem by doing structural theological research based on the Bible.
2) Because I grew up in the Hapdong branch of the Presbyterian Church ever since I believed, I had strong conservative faith. As I started studying theology, I was interested in structural theology and Calvinism faith. In the mean time, I also couldn’t stop wondering why there were no good eschatology research established in Calvin theology although they Calvin theology was claimed to be biblical. I made up my mind to start a project to establish a biblical eschatology based on reformist theology myself.
3) I started solving the problems listed above one by one. One of the biggest problem, which also gave me a great breakthrough, was the problem of the “first resurrection” and the “orders of resurrection”. (Please refer to “The first resurrection and the millennium kingdom” on the Bamjoongsori website.)
Because this work was conflicting with the traditional viewpoints on resurrection, established by the theological community and churches, I was worried if the theologists, church branch, or my colleague pastors would attack me with theological problems. However, I gained confidence and came to the point of publishing my work.
4) I realized that understanding the “seven seals”, “seven vials”, and the “three woes” and their relationships, how they are interconnected with each other is vital in this research. I worked for a long time connecting all events that occur in Revelation with them. After finishing, I could easily understand the book of Revelation. After solving the problem of the first resurrection, I had confidence.
5) After understanding the relationship between the two witnesses and the 144,000, I realized the will of the Lord giving the book of Revelation to the church at the end time and began to thank God’s grace. Chapter 10 is for the servants of God in the end; chapter 11 is for the missioners at the end time regarding their activities during the seven years tribulation; chapter 12 shows the picture of the victorious church and the clear evidence of the prepared shelter for the bridal church. I was so thankful and happy for these.
And I could understand what Revelation 1:3 really meant, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
6) Most of all, there was no other way than the book of Daniel that showed clear revelation of the seven years tribulation and the beast which is the antichrist. Thus, I attempted thorough research of Daniel chapter 2, 7, 9, 11, and 12. (Please refer to ‘The end time revelation on the book of Daniel’ in “Bamjoongsori” website.)
3. The basis of my Revelation interpretation
In order to establish an interpretation of the book of Revelation, a firm basis of belief is necessary. Without a firm basis, confusion is inevitable.
There were the following four problems that I needed to be sure with and I started my research of both books of Daniel and Revelation for investigation and verification.
1) I believed that the book of Revelation is a revelation of “things which must shortly come to pass”, where those are the things that will happen at the time when the Lord returns. Besides the cases of the seven churches in chapter 2 and 3, and the explanation of the situation of his receiving the revelation (chapter 1, 4, 5), I realized that the whole book was about the events that will happen in the end time. Studies that try to connect Revelation with past historical events (e.g., church history) were only diluting the real meaning of Revelation.
2) Connecting both books of Revelation and Daniel was very important. There is no way to explain the identity of the beast (antichrist) in the book of Revelation except from the little horn that appears in Daniel chapter 7. Considering that the theme of Daniel is “the kingdom of God”, it is important to realize that this kingdom does not represent the church era in the new testament but the Messiah kingdom in the end time that Israel has been waiting.
Realizing that the Messiah kingdom that the Jews has been waiting is in fact, the “Millennium kingdom” that will be newly established on this land upon the Lord’s return, we find that both books are mutually complementing each other. In other words, the book of Daniel is for the remnant Jews in the end time (Daniel’s Revelation) and the book of Revelation is for the church of God in the end time.
Therefore, there are many things in common on both books. The structure flow of the end time events of both books are essentially the same. Thus, wrong interpretation of the book of Daniel leads to wrong interpretation of the book of Revelation and vice versa.
3) In order to interpret the book of Revelation in the eschatological sense, the “seven years tribulation” needs to be interpreted literally. If we interpret seven years symbolically, we will lose the sense of direction on interpreting the book eschatologically. The Bible uses terms such as 1260 days, 42 months, ‘a time, and times, and a division of a time’ for describing seven years in order to clarify this point. This point is reinforced in the book of Daniel.
4) Next, I realized that there is a big eschatological flow, like a great river, in the book of Revelation. I needed to interpret and organize the book following the flow rather than dissecting book in parts and trying to fit them together without order. With this perspective, I could study both books of Revelation and Daniel in depth and I continued my research.
4. My eschatology witnessing
My first attempt to publish my eschatology research as a book was “The Earth will explode”. That was November 1974. At that time, I wanted to get a recommendation from Professor Yun-Sun Park but I was rejected because there were too many differences with his interpretation. Later, I got the recommendation from pastor Hee-Bo Kim, Dean of Chongshin university, and I published the book. Afterwards, I wrote “Contextual interpretations of the book of Revelation” in order to lecture eschatology to the pastors. Based on this book, I started my eschatology open lecture for the pastors.
My first lecture was held at the 100 year Christian memorial hall on May 19, 1987. Since the “Special seminar on the book of Revelation”, I’ve been witnessing for 10 years. Since it was around 1992 where time-limited eschatology was popular, you can imagine that the atmosphere was tense. Of course, it was a very small scale event. There was nobody to support me and I had no reputation. My church was financially poor so witnessing all by myself was very difficult.
Time has passed and now I’m on my age to retire. Eschatology research, writing and publishing 10 books on eschatology, hosting seminars resulted in weak church ministry and regrettably, my church didn’t grow much. I am sorry for the Lord for not doing much for Him and for wasting time.
Thinking that calling people and teaching them to be the end time workers of the Lord is an urgent matter, I started running my eschatology homepage (Bamjoongsori) since June 1, 2006. I hope many people who are called by God obtain many useful information from this website, study the book of Revelation, and spread the message of hope that the Lord will return like the cry at midnight (“Bamjoongsori”, Matthew 25:6).
During my research on the book of Revelation, I never prayed for any new revelation because I always firmly believed that the book of Revelation that John received in Patmos island was the whole revelation. It is written in the Bible that John wrote “the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.” (Revelation 1:2).
The servants of the Lord should not try to preach any new revelations. I believe that they should interpret the book of Revelation biblically and spread the message wholly. That was my motive of conducting thorough studies on the book of Revelation.
I did not have any teachers who would teach me, no colleagues to discuss or study with, or no seniors or any others that specially influenced me. I read many eschatology references and founded the framework of my interpretation, held seminars, and operate an homepage.
Considering my age, I don’t have much time to live anymore. My hope is to see the returning Lord while I’m alive. About the time when the Lord returns, it is my hope to be called as His servant and minister, get martyred and participate in the glory of the first resurrection. However, I am afraid that I won’t be able to live long enough to see that happen.
The Euphrates war is coming
Euphrates war is a nuclear war that will occur in the middle east when the four angles that are bound in the great river Euphrates are released. This represents the conflict of the four winds or the four world powers (Revelation 9:14-18).
This war will be the final and the worst war that mankind has ever had in history. Through this war, one tenth of the world cities will be destroyed and one third of world population will be killed (Revelation 11:13). The war starts with the king of the South attacking the beast who entered Jerusalem (Daniel 11:40). The king of the South represents the Arab union which consists of Egypt, Iran, Syria, and others. Their attack on Jerusalem will result in a nuclear war that will be spread worldwide.
Now, this war is being revealed right in front of us.
Iran's nuclear declaration!
Inspired by the success of north Korea's nuclear experiment, Iran will initiate nuclear experiments with the help of north Korea, and will eventually generate many nuclear warheads. (Editor’s note: There was a report stating that north Korea is helping Iran to prepare a underground nuclear test similar to that of Pyongyang carried out in 2006.)
This can be understood as a sign of the Euphrates war. Iran is the core country of the king of the South and the goal of their nuclear program is to attack Israel.
Europe will go to through a drastic change. The current European union, which is an aggregate of numerous nations like iron and clay, cannot take the role of the ten horns which is to rule over the world at the end of times (Daniel 7:24, Revelation 17:12-13). It is not prepared for the Euphrates war. This aggregation of iron and clay will be destroyed. It must be destroyed. The current weak EU will be reconstructed and become a superpower union, the ten horns.
After the reconstruction, the chief of the ten horns which is the seventh king and the one who will be the eighth king will appear (Revelation 17:9-12). This man is the antichrist who will appear in the end of the days, prophesied in the Bible (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Then, the world will follow the path that is prophesied in Daniel chapter 7 and Revelation chapter 9.
The beast will sign a peace treaty with the world powers in the crisis of the third world war, the deceitful 'one week covenant' (Daniel 9:27, Revelation 7:1). This one week represents 7 years which is the 7 years tribulation period. Once the one week covenant is signed, the world enters the 7 years tribulation and the events prophesied in the Bible will take place one by one.
The antichrist will have the authority of the red dragon and establish the kingdom of Satan, the world government. The unified world government which is under Satan's control will be established and will be in power for 42 months counting from the Euphrates war.
At the end of the 7 years tribulation, this government will end and the Lord will return to the mount of Olives. The Lord will engage in the Armageddon war and destroy the beast and its army (Revelation 19:19-21).
“Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east...” (Zechariah 14:3-4).
That day is approaching us. We will hear 'Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.', the cry of the two witnesses at midnight (Matthew 25:1-13).
I hope this book "Prepare the day of the Lord" will help people who are hoping in the Lord's returning as Noah's preaching before the judgement of the flood (Matthew 24:37-39).
Preparing for the day of the Lord means to prepare the lamp and oil so that the bride may be ready to meet the bridegroom. May the believers who listens to the message prepare themselves and become one of the people wearing white robes and meet the Lord who will return.
Believers of Lord Jesus Christ have hope that He is coming back. However, it is sad to see that this hope is being neglected by believers often times. It has been 30 years since I've been serving the Lord regarding this vision. Now, I retired from the church ministry and became a senior pastor. However, the ministry of the Second Advent of Christ will neither stop nor rest until the Lord returns.
The Bamjoongsori (editor's note: means "a cry at midnight" in Korean. Matthew 25:6) homepage (www.bamjoongsori.org) has been established in June 2001 with the support and encouragement of many people who were hoping in the Lord's return. There were many feedbacks through the homepage. In particular, the fellowship through the Q&A section was most impressive.
We selected and compiled some of the queries from the Q&A section and published this book "Prepare the days of the Lord" to answer the call of this age and many other people's requests.
I hope this book serves as a guidance to the Way for the people who are hoping in His return.
In addition, I would like to thank deacon Woo-Chung Ha and Ju-Hyun Park who have been working faithfully with me in this ministry. Their selfless devotion greatly contributed to the publication of this book.
