21. The second seal and the red horse

The red horse represents forces of war. Taking peace from the earth means war and this war is no ordinary war. The Bible testifies that casualties from this war is one third of the world population.

The red horse appeared when the second seal was opened.

1) Now, the Lord opens the second seal. What happened? There came out another horse that was red. The rider of the horse was given a great sword and power was given to him to take peace from the earth by means of people killing each other. This clearly indicates that this being is the one that will bring a terrible war in this land.

2) From Revelation chapter 9, we observe the Euphrates war that will occur during the seven years tribulation. This war is also referred to as the second woe (or the sixth trumpet). This war is described as the world war which will happen in the middle of the seven years tribulation.

It is written that the number of the army involved in this war is two hundred thousand thousand, or 200 million. One third of the world population will be killed in this war. This war is induced by this red horse.

3) The red horse represents forces of war. Taking peace from the earth means war and this war is no ordinary war. The Bible testifies that casualties from this war is one third of the world population.

This red horse is not signifying any particular individual or a nation. The forces that will engage in the war during the seven years tribulation is the four world powers as described as the four winds. The main forces of this war will be the king of the south which is the Arab union, the antichrist. Also, the forces of Gog and Magog will be involved which is located in the far north of Israel as prophesied in Ezekiel chapter 38.

In the end times, the Euphrates war will, of course, be a war where the king of the south, the Arab union, attacking Israel. Furthermore, the king of the north which comes from the far north of Israel will also attack Israel (Ezekiel 38:15-18, Daniel 11:40-43).

This war will be the last war in this land as a form of God’s judgement to mankind. This war is the tribulation that occurs in this world when Jesus opens the second seal.

22. The third seal and the black horse

This is a warning that there will be a severe famine during the seven years tribulation. Also, this can be seen as a symbol of the controlled economic policy.

The black horse appeared when the third seal was opened.

The black horse appeared when Jesus opened the third seal. The rider of the horse had a pair of balances in his hand. Then, what is the black horse that appeared when Jesus opened the third seal? What is the role of this horse in the seven years tribulation?

1) In order to understand the identity of the rider of this horse, we need to notice what he is holding in his hand. It is written that he had a pair of balances. A pair of balances is an economical tool for mankind, mainly used to measure the weight of food. Therefore, the pair of balances is a warning that there will be a severe famine during the seven years tribulation. Also, this can be seen as a symbol of the controlled economic policy.

The reason for this comes from verse 6, “A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” A penny (denarius) is worth a day wage for a worker. However, it says that you get only a measure of wheat or three measures of barley for this amount of money. This not only implies an incredible economical state of inflation but also the shortage of food.

2) However, we believers find hope even in the days of tribulation through verse 6: “ and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

God has given orders not to hurt the oil and wine even during the severe famine. Here, the oil and wine symbolizes the holy spirit and the truth (God’s word), respectively.

Therefore, this message is about the people of God who prepared themselves with the truth, God’s word, and with the fullness of the holy spirit. This is God’s promise that He will protect His people even during the tribulation. This privilege is possible because the believers are guided to the prepared shelter of God.

Revelation 7:16 says “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.” Knowing that the great tribulation is approaching, we should be the oil and wine who are the believers protected in the prepared shelter of God.

23. The fourth seal and the pale horse

The name of the man sitting on the pale horse was Death. This means that anyone who follows him will die.

The pale horse appeared when the fourth seal was opened.

This pale horse is the final tribulation force that will appear in history. We notice that this force is the worst among all the forces.

1) Surprisingly, it is written that his name is Death. Also, it is said that Hell followed him. He had power over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth (Revelation 6:8).

The name of the man sitting on the pale horse was Death. This means that anyone who follows him will die. Also, anyone who follows him will go to Hell.

2) This pale horse is dreadful. The sword that he has is the power, seat, and authority given from Satan. Since the famine came because of the antichrist, it is his power. Death indicates the spiritual death. The beasts of the earth is the delusion caused by the false prophet.

This authority is given to the antichrist, symbolized as the pale horse, in order to bring God’s judgement to the people who left God and do not believe in Jesus Christ.

The period of the four horses’ activities is the seven years tribulation. These horses cannot come unless this secret book of judgement sealed by seven seals is opened.

24. The fifth seal and the inquiry of the martyrs

“The number” is the number of the servants of God that will be martyred during the seven years tribulation.

Now is the time for the fifth seal to be opened by Jesus.

However, the opening of the fifth seal did not bring any disaster. We rather see a scene of the martyrs asking God for the return of the Lord and for His judgement to be done.

This is a revelation showing the souls that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held, asking God, under the altar. They cried with a loud voice saying “How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?” (Revelation 6:10)

God gave them white robes and told them that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled (Editor’s note: In NIV, it says “until the number of their fellow servants..” Emphasis by the editor). “The number” is the number of the servants of God that will be martyred during the seven years tribulation.

These appear as the 144,000 servants of God, sealed in their foreheads, in the next chapter, Revelation chapter 7. They minister as the two witnesses and martyr in Revelation chapter 11. God’s judgement will come to this world when the numbers of their martyrdom is fulfilled.

25. The sixth seal and the end of mankind

When Jesus opened the sixth seal, “lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” - The greatest plate tectonic movement in history.

The last judgement of mankind

At last, it is time for Jesus to open the sixth seal that will bring the final judgement to mankind. The numbers of the martyrs are now filled. The people in white robes harvested by the ministry of the two witnesses are lead to the prepared shelter of God. Now, there is no reason for any delay. With theses events, the world will enter into the later three and a half year period. There will be the final judgement of God with the return of the Lord.

This is a picture of the seventh vial judgement which will come along with the return of Lord Jesus. This day, all people will face the same disaster. Without any exception, all living creatures will be burned. Of course, the saints that are written in the book of life will be raptured into the air and meet the Lord who has returned in the air.

Our attitude in the last days

Soon when Jesus opens the first seal, the white horse will appear in this world. The appearance of the white horse is a signal of God that we are entering the seven years tribulation.

The faithful and wise servants who have the seal in their foreheads will receive the power written in Revelation chapter 11 and accomplish the ministry of 1260 days prophecy. That is when the countdown for the end of history begins.

Nowadays, many people say “where is the promise that the Lord will come?” Like the days of Lot, people are immersed in the worldly acts. However, the Bible warns us that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. We need to be the prepared wise virgins so that we will not be ashamed when the Lord returns.

26. The first trumpet and the Antichrist

There is something we need to understand. That is, the first trumpet to the fourth trumpet events in chapter 8 do not occur during the seven year tribulation but just before the tribulation. Those events are directly related with the seven years tribulation.

The seven trumpet events and their proceeding

The seven trumpet events are written in Revelation chapter 8, 9, and 16. In chapter 8, events starting from the first trumpet to the fourth trumpet is described. The fifth and sixth trumpet is written in chapter 8 and the last trumpet, which is the seventh, appears in chapter 16.

In Revelation 8:1, Jesus opens the seventh seal. When He opened the seal, it is written that there was silence in heaven about half an hour. The commander in chief who executes the judgement of mankind, Jesus, gave seven trumpets to the seven angles which stood before God. John is giving the spiritual background of the beginning of God’s judgement with the seven trumpets in verse 3 and after.

The first trumpet and the antichrist

An extraordinary event occurred when the first angle blew the trumpet - hail and fire mingled with blood were cast upon the earth. Hail and fire symbolize tools of God’s judgement. God used the same tools when He was bringing disasters to Egypt.

Hail and fire mingled with blood indicate that the judgement will be carried out by a merciless revolution force. It is written that the regions afflicted by this judgement is one third of the world.

When God judges a nation, He prepares a revolutionary force that will execute the judgement. He prepared Babylon to take Israel captive. He used Rome for Israel’s judgement. Similarly He will introduce the tool of perdition that will be used to judge the world in the end times, which is the antichrist. The antichrist will receive the power, seat and authority of Satan and initiate the bloody revolution to build Satan’s empire.

God uses the antichrist as the revolutionary forces to destroy the world in the end times. Mingled with blood means merciless judgement. Therefore, “there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth” indicates that there is a person who will bring terrible disaster to this world. The antichrist which will appear as the pale horse which will will “kill with sword and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth” (Revelation 6:8) The first trumpet reveals the such activities of the antichrist.

The seven years tribulation must be preceded by the appearance of the antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4). One third of the world will be damaged when he appears. Here, one third represents the great amount of damage that the world will suffer because of the antichrist which will occur during the seven year tribulation. (footnote 1)

Footnote 1

There seems to be a contradiction between the summary (..do not occur during the seven year tribulation but just before the tribulation) and the last sentence of this chapter (..which will occur during the seven year tribulation). Pastor Min says that there should be a distinction between the events and the aftermath of the event of the first ~ fourth trumpets. The events that occur when the trumpets are blown are the appearances of the evil forces. They must come before the seven year tribulation. However, damages caused by them will occur during the seven years tribulation.

27. The second trumpet and the ten horns (the powers of affliction)

The “ten horns” (the ten nations) in Revelation chapter 17 are the forces which will belong to the antichrist and give all of their power and strength to him.

What happened when the second angle blew the trumpet? The scripture says that a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea (Revelation 8:8). A great mountain burning with fire represents a terrible forces of affliction that brings fire in this world. Mountain symbolizes nations in the Bible.

Therefore, a great mountain means a great nation. This mountain was cast into the sea. Here, the sea represents the world in confusion. Therefore, a great mountain cast unto one third of the region of the sea indicates the connection of this incident with the first trumpet. Then, what is this “great mountain burning with fire”? It is the ten horns (the ten nations) written in  Revelation 17, which will belong to the antichrist and give all of their power and strength to him.

This ten horns symbolized as the great mountain burning with fire appears with the antichrist. This great mountain is the fifth nation among the five nations that appear in Daniel chapter 2. By the end of the days of this nation (when the Lord returns), a stone that was cut out of the mountain without hands will brake the great image. What was the damage caused by this monstrous great mountain when it was cast unto the sea? “The third part of the sea became blood and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed (Revelation 8:8-9)”. One third of the sea became blood - this means that the world will become like the sea of blood because of the killings and slaughter. The Euphrates war will cause the death of the one third of the whole world population. This massacre will make this world a sea of blood.

The scripture tells us that one third of the ships will be destroyed. Ships are the means of transportation in the sea. This kind of damage will fail the transportation of the world caused by the byproducts of the war.

28. The third trumpet and the evil ideas

Wormwood is the antichrist ideology of Satan that kills spiritual life. The scripture indicates that this idea will be wide spread around the 7 years tribulation period in this world.

What happened when the third angel blew his trumpet? It is written that “ there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters” (Revelation 8:10). Here, how to interpret the great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, is the key point. However, the scripture clarifies the identity of the great star. The star is called Wormwood. Wormwood is the antichrist ideology of Satan that kills spiritual life. The scripture indicates that this idea will be wide spread around the 7 years tribulation period in this world.

It is written that “the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter” (Revelation 8:11). Satan’s task can be roughly classified into two. Those are 1. to speak against God and 2. corrupt God’s children, which is to make the river and springs (church) bitter so that people who drink that water may die.

Revelation 12:4 describes how Satan accomplishes this: “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.” The third part of the starts of heaven that were cast to the earth indicates the servants of Satan disguised as the servants of God who will give woodworm to the saints. The location where the star fell - one third of the rivers and the fountains of water which is the church - indicate the fall or corruption of the servants of God.

Satan provides woodworm through the corrupted message. Any kind of corrupted bible message is Satan’s woodworm no matter how well it is wrapped up. By the end times, the whole world will be filled with Satan’s woodworm. During the 7 years period, this woodworm will be transformed into the wine of fornication which will be used as the vessel that will intoxicate the world.

This spiritual darkness period is the end time. Jesus said “when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8). This tells us that the spiritual darkness will be wide spread throughout the world by then.

29. The fourth trumpet and spiritual darkness

The night becomes even darker because  one third of the church, one third of the saints, one third of the servants of God, those who should have been the light in the darkness, have fallen.

What happened when the fourth trumpet was blown? It is written that “and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened.”

The fourth trumpet is connected with the third trumpet as the first and second trumpet is connected to each other. The sun symbolizes the church of God. Revelation 12:1 shows a woman clothed with the sun which is the church of God. However, one third of these churches are affected by the woodworm. Furthermore, even one third of the moon and the stars were smitten when the trumpet was blown. The moon represents the saints (believers) of the church. The stars represent the servants of God. Here, night in the scripture (“night likewise”) indicates the spiritual darkness of the world.

The night becomes even darker because  one third of the church, one third of the saints, one third of the servants of God, those who should have been the light in the darkness, have fallen.

30. The fifth trumpet and the first woe (The woe of locusts)

The locusts are the spiritual followers who serve the antichrist as king. They are a huge spiritual army who are loyal to the antichrist and obey him.

Revelation 9:1 says “And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.” The world faces three woes which starts from the fifth angel’s trumpet. The second and third woe are initiated by the sixth and seventh angel’s trumpet, respectively.

1) It is written that a star has fallen from heaven. This star was given the key of the bottomless pit and he (the star) opened the bottomless pit. We can deduct from the fact that this star is no ordinary star because it not only had the key of the bottomless pit but also opened the bottomless pit.

This star is Satan, the red dragon. Revelation 12 explains when and why this star has fallen from heaven, “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

Thus, the earth faces tribulation as Satan is defeated by Michael in heaven and driven down to the earth. During the seven years tribulation, Satan falls down to the earth and rules the earth through the antichrist and the false prophet, struggling against God.

2) It is written that the star was given the key of the bottomless pit and opened it. In Greek, this word is “αβυσσος”, meaning “having no bottom”. Theologically, this is interpreted as the prison of the spiritual world. There are numerous evil spirits locked in the bottomless pit. We can observe in the scripture that evil spirits driven out of people asking Jesus not to command them to go to the bottomless pit (Luke 8:31). Therefore, we speculate that God has locked some of the fallen angels in the bottomless pit while permitted some of them to do its work on the earth. The key of the bottomless pit originally belongs to Jesus who has the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. However, Jesus allowed Satan to use it temporarily for God’s ministry of salvation.

3) When he opened the bottomless pit, there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth. These locusts are human locusts that came from the bottomless pit. Since evil spirits are spiritual beings, they can act only by entering into human beings. Numerous evil spirits enters into people and act according to Satan’s directions. Their actions are so well-coordinated that their persecution of the church looks like locusts devouring all the green things.

The locusts are controlled by the antichrist and they commit enormous persecution to God’s church. The torment of scorpion indicates Satan’s authority of persecuting the church. Scorpion is a spider-like insect that lives in the Palestinian region. It has a a deadly poisonous sting at the end of its tail.

4) It is written that the locusts should only harm men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. Who are the men that does not have the seal of God in their foreheads? As the evil spirits came out of the bottomless pit like a smoke, those evil spirits entered into people and created a whole army of human locusts.

The leader of the locusts is described in verse 11. “And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.” Abaddon means destruction and Apollyon means destructor. Therefore, the angle of the bottomless pit represents the one who has Satan’s power, seat, and authority who will rule the world for forty two months, the antichrist. Therefore, the vast swarms of locusts is the spiritual subordinates of the antichrist. They are a cast crowd who are loyal to Satan and the antichrist.

They had orders from the antichrist, their king, to hurt people who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads. Many people believe that the target of the locusts are unbelievers of Christ that they will be punished at that time. However, their argument does not make sense. Clearly, the persecutors are nonbelievers and they belong to the antichrist. Thus, attacking the same side does not make sense. Look at verse 4, “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

The grass or anything green symbolizes common people. Trees represent people with high status quo. They are being excluded from the persecution. The persecution target is explicitly written as “those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

Then, we may reason, why would God separate people who have seal of God in their foreheads and people who don’t? In chapter 7, we have seen the servants of God who have the seal of God in their foreheads. They are the servants of God who are selected from the twelve tribes of Israel, 12,000 each, who are 144,000 in total.

The 144,000 servants of God are the people who are selected from the people of God called Israel to serve as the “two witnesses”, armed with the holy spirit. They are invulnerable for the first three and a half year period. Their powers are described as ”And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.” (Revelation 11:5) Thus, the servants of God who have seals of God in their foreheads does not get hurt from the locusts during this period. That is why the locusts hurt the believers who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads.

The length of persecution is 5 months. The first woe, which is the persecution that the believers have to undergo during the seven years tribulation, is limited to 5 months. In Revelation 2:10, 7:14 and 12:13, this is described as the ten days tribulation, the great tribulation, and the persecution of the church, respectively.

During this time, many believers will be qualified as the bride of Christ who is the one who overcome by washing their robes with the blood of the Lamb. Their faith will be in the form of the recovered first love and pure and quick faith. They are the wheat of the church gathered by the ministry of the two witnesses during the first three and a half year period, the wise virgins who will be nourished in the prepared shelter of God in the later three and a half year period during the great tribulation period.

The persecutions that the believers will undergo are described in verse 6. “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Since this is not the time of martyrdom, persecutions will not cause death. God did not give permission to Satan to kill the believers, similar to the case of Job.

Luke 21:18 says “But there shall not an hair of your head perish.” Once the believers endure this time and become the ones who overcome, they will not face death and enter into the millennium kingdom of Christ and live a blessed life for a thousand years.

Observe verse 12, “One woe is past.” This woe can only last 5 months. That is because the first three and a half hear period has ended.

31. The sixth trumpet and the second woe (The Euphrates war)

There was a voice from the four horns of the golden alter which is before God, saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angles which are bound in the great river Euphrates. The four angles were loosed and a terrifying war began. The scripture mentions the identity of the four angels, symbolized as four winds, as “which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.”

1) The sixth angel blew the trumpet. Here, the sixth trumpet corresponds to the second woe. The sixth trumpet, which is the second woe, is the judgement of God that starts right after the end of the first three and a half year period which is the beginning of the later three and a half years period.

What happened after the sixth trumpet? A voice was heard from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God saying to the the sixth angel which had the trumpet. The voice was an order to loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. Revelation 7:1 tells us that the mission of the four angels was to hold the four winds of the earth that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. These four winds are also mentioned in Daniel 7 that strove upon the great sea.

The four winds are the forces of war that will bring disaster in this world, the four world powers who hold the keys of the end time world war. Among the four, one of them is the little horn who will appear as the beast, who is the antichrist.

2) There was a voice from the four horns of the golden alter which is before God, saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angles which are bound in the great river Euphrates. The four angles were loosed and a terrifying war began. The scripture mentions the identity of the four angels, symbolized as four winds, as “which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.” In the war, which is the second woe, the four world powers, which is symbolized as the four angels, appears. The collision of the four will cause one third of the world population’s death.

Here, the scripture mentions about the time of this event. It says it will happen on “an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year”. We do not know when it will be but we can infer that God has already planned which hour, day, month, and year it will happen. This war will begin with the collision of the southern king that will attack Jerusalem with the antichrist. Then, as it is written in Ezekiel 38, the forces of Gog which is in the north will attack Jerusalem and the war will become a world war.

3) Next, the scripture describes how many troops are engaged and the number of people who died in this war. The number of the army is said to be two hundred thousand thousand, which is 200 million. We can imagine that this is a very large scale war considering the number of troops. Currently, it is known that the world population about 6 billion. Assuming that one third of the world population dies from this war, 2 billion people will lose their lives. With no doubt, a war that can cause such a mass killing like this would be no other than a nuclear war.

4) Verse 16 and after describes the manpower and the weaponry used in this war. Since the scripture was written 2000 years ago describing the world war of the end times, many things are written in a symbolic manner.

This war is full of fire, smoke, and brimstone, which will be the result of nuclear warheads or missiles. It says that there are survivors, which will be the remaining two thirds of the world population. Although they have seen God’s judgement, the scripture says that these people will not repent their sin.

We need to realize who will be entering into the later three and a half years tribulation.

1. All people who do not believe in Jesus will fall into this tribulation in order to face the judgement of God. Since the later three and a half year period is the time of judgement, there will be no repent done by the holy spirit.

2. The bodily Israeli Jews (as opposed to the spiritual Jews, believers of Jesus Christ) will fall into this great tribulation. Israel needs to bear its cross until the end for they have crucified Jesus. It is prophesied that when Jesus returns, by the mercy of God, they will accept Jesus so that the salvation of the remaining Jews may be accomplished.

3. The foolish virgins who are saved but did not prepare themselves as the bride during the first three and a half years period will also fall into the tribulation. However, since they are saved, they enter into tribulation but not like the unbelievers who get judged to perish. For believers, tribulation is not judgement but discipline of love for repentance. After undergoing the tribulation, through the disasters of the Euphrates war, they will repent and recover their faith (Revelation 12:17).

For the rest of the people, there is no possibilities of salvation or repentance. Thus, verse 20 testifies that they did not repent of their deeds. God prepared a terrible disaster for them - the seventh vial judgement.

32. The seventh trumpet and the seven vial judgement and the third woe

The seven vial judgement is the procedure of the seventh trumpet. The seven vial judgement is the final judgement of God, concluded by the seventh vial judgement.

The seven vials of  the wrath of God

The final judgement of God starts with seven vials. The seven vial judgement is also referred to as the third woe or the seventh trumpet. In Revelation 16:1 it says that a great voice came out of the temple giving orders to the seven angles, “Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.”

(Comments on the first to the fifth vial judgement is omitted)

1) The sixth vial judgement and the end of the antichrist

In verse 12, it says that the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates. This vial indicates the Armageddon war. The Armageddon war is a war between Jesus, who comes from heaven, and the army of the antichrist of this world. This is the final war between heaven and earth. Detailed description of this war can be found in Revelation chapter 19. The antichrist knows that his final hours have arrived. For the last time, he will gather his troops to Jerusalem.

In order to attack Israel which has been resisting the rulership of the antichrist in the later three and a half year period, the troops of the antichrist were gathering to the valley of Megiddo (Armageddon), passing the Euphrates river. However, Jesus will gather the heavenly forces and descend to Mount. Olives which is in the east side of Jerusalem. As He promised, the Lord will save the remaining people of Israel (Zechariah 12:9-13:1).

In this war, the antichrist and the false prophet will be captured alive and will be cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. The soldiers of the antichrist will be slain with the sword of Jesus coming out of His mouth and their flesh will be eaten by all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, participating in the supper of the great God. (Revelations 19:17, 21)

2) The seventh vial judgement and the amazing events

After the sixth vial judgement, the seventh vial judgement will take place which is the total destruction of the earth by fire. Before the seventh vial judgement is executed, there are some amazing events that take place.

1. One of them is the salvation of Israel. The Jews had to live through the cursed fate of history for being responsible of crucifying Jesus. That is the path that their forefathers have chosen and so did the descendants. Nobody could blame one another for that. The Jews still do not admit Jesus who came to this world through their bloodline as their Messiah.

They will receive the antichrist as their Messiah by the time of the seven years tribulation. However, they will reject the antichrist when he forces the Jews to worship his image (John 5:43).

At this crucial moment, Jesus returns. It is written that He will stand on Mount. Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east (Zechariah 14:4). For Jesus returns to them as the one who has been crucified by the Jews, the Jews will look at Him and repent.

Prophet Zechariah prophesied “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn” (Zechariah 12:10). The prophecy of the salvation of the remaining Jews will be accomplished by then (Romans 11:26, 27).

2. Another amazing event occurs. This event even amazes us - the rapture of christians. All believers on earth will be transported to the air instantly (Matthew 24:31, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelations 14:15).

If there is anybody in this world who do not get raptured at that time, that person will face the calamity of the seven vial judgement, disappear with the explosion of the earth, and enter into eternal perdition. The believers who were ready to receive the bridegroom will be raptured from the prepared shelter of God. The foolish virgins who fell into the later three and a half year tribulation and the remaining Jews will also be raptured. The raptured will be saved from the explosion of the earth and will come to the new earth of the millennium kingdom.

3. Now everything is ready. All the believers written in the book of life have been raptured by something in the air. There is no believers remaining on the earth. It is time for the final judgement to be executed. Jesus orders the seventh angel to pour the seventh vial.

As ordered, the seventh angel poured the vial into the air. And there were voices, thunders, lightnings, and there was a great earthquake, “such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.”

And the great city Babylon (earth) was divided into three parts.

Regarding this event, apostle Peter wrote, “Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Peter 3:6-7)” That day, as a volcano erupt all of a sudden, the earth will explode.

The scripture also talks about the scale of this earthquake. It says that the cities of the nations fell. The cities of the nations indicate all cities in the world.

Then, the scripture says that every island fled away because of the earthquake. Islands represents continents of this world. 70.8% of earth is covered by the sea so all lands on the earth are after all, islands. It says that they disappear all at once.

And then, the scripture says that the mountains were not found. All the great mountains will disappear. The earth will look like a sphere completely covered with water just like it used to be in Genesis chapter 1. When these things happen, it ways that great hailstones will fall upon men that weight of a talent. Who will be able to survive through this disaster? Even if some try to escape to the space with a rocket, they will not be able to avoid the judgement. Prophet Obadiah wrote (Obadiah 1:4) “Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.”

How dreadful this day is? How terrifying it is? This day will surely come and it is approaching us. That is why Jesus told us many times to be prepared of that day. We should not boast even if we were living in a luxurious mansion. We should keep our faith until the end fixing our eyes on the crown of life. The One who will come told us that He would come soon.

33. What is the relationship between the two witnesses and 144000?

They are called as the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks because they are the servants that came from the church of God at the end times. Context-wise, relating the 144,000 servants of God to the two olive trees and the two candlesticks is natural.

If we can find out who the two witnesses are in Revelation chapter 11, that would be a big breakthrough. Interpretation of the two witnesses is a difficult problem unless we examine the people that are in chapter 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 20.

In chapter 7, the people who have seals in their foreheads are “the servants of our God” and their numbers are 144,000. We only know that they have seals in the foreheads but do not know what their missions are in the days of tribulation until we reach chapter 14 where they appear on mount Sion.

Chapter 14 mentions some qualifications of those people. In verse 4, it says “These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.” Here, “redeem” does not refer to the spiritual redemption but the redemption of the body which is the risen body. Therefore, with the seal in their foreheads, they were on a mission on this land and were martyred. In chapter 14, they were standing before the throne.

A prophecy of their martyrdom can be found in Revelation 6:11. The sixth seal revelation shows the execution of God’s judgement as the numbers of the martyrs were filled.

Apostle John, who saw this revelation, ate a little open book and started the two witnesses prophecy ministry in chapter 11.

Chapter 10 shows these ministers what they are called for. Chapter 11 shows their prophecy ministry for 1260 days, empowered by God. Their martyrdom is connected with chapter 6’s martyrdom. Chapter 14 describes these people who gets risen and ascends to heaven after three and a half days of their death.

They are the martyrs in Revelation 20:4-6 who are glorified by receiving the first resurrection, who lives and reigns with Christ a thousand years.

They are called as the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks because they are the servants that came from the church of God at the end times. Context-wise, relating the 144,000 servants of God to the two olive trees and the two candlesticks is natural.

Since they received their seals from the angles, they do not have a leader. The reason why the scripture describes the location of their martyrdom the spiritual “Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified” is because their martyrdom takes place in a Sodom-ified and Egypt-ified world.

We need to remember that the appearance or the activities of the 144,000 is not in Jerusalem but in the whole world because it is for the believers who are scattered in the world.

34. Does the prepared place of God really exist?

There is a biblical evidence that there is a prepared shelter of God in the days of tribulation. The scripture says “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” (Revelation 12:6)

The pastors who research eschatology does not always agree with each others opinions. The viewpoints can be different according to their theology and research results. The problem of the prepared shelter is one of the issues that many people disagree on. People who argue that the prepared shelter is the church, not a specific place, will have good reasons.

However, it is difficult to tell whether their reasons are real biblical evidences or their biblical interpretations.

However, there is a biblical evidence that there is a prepared shelter of God in the days of tribulation. The scripture says “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” (Revelation 12:6)

It is clear that the verse is neither symbolizing something nor meaning the church. Additionally, considering the context of the bible, we realize that there must be a prepared shelter during the days of tribulation so that the believers may be protected from the terrifying tribulation.

35. Where is this place that people are taken, written in Matthew 24:41?

“Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” (Matthew 24:41)

The context of the scripture indicates that the phrase “shall be taken” means one is taken from the tribulation while “left” means that the other is left amongst the tribulation.

Matthew 24:40-44 is a parable showing us believers that we should be prepared for the end time, the days of tribulation. However, it is difficult to tell if this parable is indicating the time when the believers are entering the prepared shelter (Revelation 12:6, 14) during the days of tribulation or the time when the believers will be raptured at the final judgement (Matthew 24:31). Whatever it may be, there is no big problem.

Here, the two women who shall be grinding at the mill symbolizes the wise and foolish virgins in Matthew chapter 25, the believing survivors when the Lord returns. Therefore, “taken” means that they are “evacuated” from imminent danger.

“A woman clothed with the sun” appears in Revelation 12. This symbolizes the church that prepares the Lord’s return. Both in 12:6 where it says that she fled to the wilderness and in 12:14 where it says “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness” shows how God guides the believers, the prepared brides of Christ, to the prepared shelter for the later three and a half years period.

Revelation 7:14 describes about these people, “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”.
